parental involvement and learners’ academic performance at primary leaving examination in Rural Government-Aided Primary Schools in Ssisa Sub-county, Wakiso District, Uganda

The study sought to establish the level of parental involvement and learners’ academic performance at P.L.E in rural government- aided primary schools Sissa Sub-County, Wakiso District, Uganda. Three specific objectives guided thus; · To home-based government-aided Ssisa Sub county, district. school-based Subcounty, examine relationship between PLE schools, employed a descriptive research design using mixed methods approach. also adopted cross- sectional method gather data from headteachers teachers. Both qualitative quantitative approaches were applied collection, analysis, interpretation data. Results indicated that government Subcounty was high mean 3.64 with standard deviation 1.23. results there 3.66 1.2. revealed positive significant (r = -.120, N 102, p .230 > 0.05). recommended that; Parents should; provide conducive learning environment their children home, quality supervision when given homework show attitude learners activities since it enhances these P.L.E. education department dsitrict should fully sensitize public about relevance how performance. School administrators create close partnerships parents learners.
